Traverse City Record Eagle: Best New Car & Truck Sales, Best Car Service

2015 Top JD Byrider Franchise in the Country
Our JD Byrider team celebrated for being selected as the top franchise in the country. The local franchise was chosen as the top single-point dealership and was selected to receive the company's President's Award.

J.D. Byrider has 168 franchises in 34 states and specializes in helping to resolve credit problems for car shoppers.

Single-point dealerships are those that only have one J.D. Byrider franchise. The award was made over the weekend at a company conference in Florida. The selection is based, in part, on customer satisfaction for both sales and service.

"Our goal all year has been to be in the top ten in the country," says general manager Tedd Pless. "To be selected as tops in the country shows what we can do when we all work together to achieve a common goal."

Sales manager, Jeff Nickerson, says the award is a challenge for the future. "I'm very proud of our team, but this is just the start. We need to keep striving to to do better."

The Bill Marsh Auto Group opened the J.D. Byrider franchise in Traverse City in 2009. Based in Indianapolis, J.D. Byrider first opened for business in 1989. Find out more at www.jdbyrider.com.

Bill Marsh Kalkaska Named Business Of The Year
Before a packed Chamber of Commerce
luncheon earlier this month, Mike Marsh received the highest award given to a business in Kalkaska County.  The chamber president cited renovations made at the dealership that help boost the image of the village of Kalkaska.  He also named community activities that included the Kampout for KAIR, Toys for Tots, fundraisers to help the school and a drive to assist a local veteran who was injured on the job as reasons for the award.

"This community has opened its arms to us," said Mike Marsh in return.  Marsh complimented the staff that was mostly hired by the previous owner, Dan McCormick, as being a group of quality individuals that positively reflect on both the car dealership and on the community.

The award came as a surprise to owners and staff at Bill Marsh.  "This was totally unexpected," says Marsh.  "This was the first acquisition that my brothers and I had when we took over the company from our dad, and I don't think it could have gone any smoother.  We are proud to be a part of the village and the surrounding community," adds Marsh.

Bill Marsh Recieves A Bronze Award from United Way

Over 90 Bill Marsh employees had the chance to attend a Traverse City Beach Bums game as a result of their generosity to the United Way campaign. Every Bill Marsh department that had 100-percent participation in the annual charitable campaign was treated to a night out at the ballpark.

Bill Marsh employees contributed over $11,000 to this year's United Way campaign. The accomplishment was marked by the United Way giving Bill Marsh Auto a Bronze Award for this year's campaign. It was also noted by a trip to the ballpark for a large group of Marsh employees. The Traverse City Beach Bums suffered a 3-2 loss to the Washington Wild Things, but for some employees this was their first trip to the ballpark and they appeared to be thoroughly impressed.
